Youth Day is dedicated to the hundreds of youth who died in Soweto on June 16th, 1976 during a peaceful protest against the Apartheid government’s directive. To honor the day, students came together at Thanda to sing, dance, create signs, perform science experiments, make recycled art collages, and learn about using the library for research! We discussed human and children’s rights, too.
