This month, Thanda held two books festivals as an opportunity for After-school participants to showcase their work, gain new knowledge, and have fun with students from other schools. A notable activity was from studies on astronomy and solar systems. In one performance, students spoke as different planets and gave some key facts, including the exact kilometres the planet is from the sun – wow!
Before beginning her work as the Marketing & Communications Coordinator at Thanda, Alicia was a Healthy Youth Advisor for the U.S. Peace Corps in South Africa's neighboring country, Lesotho. In 2014, she graduated from the University of Denver in Colorado, USA with a degree in International Health and Development.
