This month, 125 students from various schools participated in a chess tournament held at Thanda. Students who play chess in our After-school Programme have shown a greater increase in numeracy, science and critical-thinking skills than students who don’t – what an amazing game!
Before beginning her work as the Marketing & Communications Coordinator at Thanda, Alicia was a Healthy Youth Advisor for the U.S. Peace Corps in South Africa's neighboring country, Lesotho. In 2014, she graduated from the University of Denver in Colorado, USA with a degree in International Health and Development.
